A beautiful recreation of the iconic set of Isle of Lewis chess pieces, made of ground slate, expertly crafted by Berkeley Chess, England.
The Lewis chess pieces are 78 walrus ivory chess pieces from the 12th century. They were probably made in Norway or Iceland and discovered on the Scottish island of Lewis in 1831. They are the best preserved medieval chess pieces. This original set is on display at The British Museum in London.
