The age-old game of chess has been given a new but recognizable look in this Amsterdam variant. The chess set consists of a game with pieces each holding one
represent a typical building in the city. Buildings such as the A'dam tower, the Westertoren, the tram and the Amsterdammertje are familiar faces for everyone
who once visited the city. In addition, the shape of traditional chess pieces has certainly been taken into account in order to promote recognisability and ease of play.
For example, the tower in the game is also a flattened tower in real life, for example, and the bishop has a pointed, cone-shaped roof, etc. The whole has a compact design and can be
easy to take with you on a trip. The chess pieces are, as it were, 'inserted' into the intended holes in the board itself. The chess pieces can be
stored in the slide-out lid that also forms the surface of the board. The whole is provided with a matching cardboard sleeve with 3 Amsterdam Andreas crosses.
Finally, the sleeve contains a sticker with an explanation of the types of chess pieces and where the Amsterdam 'variant' is located in the city center.
