Every year, Ellusionist holds a competition in which fans may submit concepts for a new official Ellusionist deck. Last year's winner was Joshua Ray, a close-up magician who, together with Ellusionist designer Oban, captured his tastes and personality in the new Tinker Deck.
Joshua has many hobbies, from DIYíng to music, from knitting to building to programming. He loves to tinker and to create something from anything.
His love for traditionally dainty playing cards inspired the Tinkers. The card backs introduce the workshop of a maker, and his favorite color, green, also found its way into the design.
