Katsura wood, 17cm thick.
The wood has not been painted (contrary to many Chinese and Korean gotables), so the grain and the year rings of the wood are nicely visible. On the bottom side of the table, according to tradition, the wood has been hollowed out to create a resonance box: for the aesthetics of the play-sound.
